Start with real work
A productive school conversation begins with something students can recognise: the building around them, the electrical systems that power their day and the people who keep their communities working. We connect these familiar things to the skills behind them, making vocational careers easier to discuss with teachers, families and students.
Make room for questions
An outreach session should give students more than a list of occupations. We build space to ask about learning on the job, the physical demands of a trade, the habits that make a dependable colleague and the different ways a career can develop. Practical questions deserve practical answers.
Keep the conversation going
The next conversation matters as much as the first visit. Educators can use the Working Class show, the book and a focused discussion to explore different paths. Students leave with questions to take to a technical school, apprenticeship sponsor or employer rather than a promise of a particular outcome.
